In 2002 the school dropout rate in Manizales was 8.2%When we asked ourselves why, we realized that school just wasn’t that engaging for students
When we discovered that school wasn’t motivating students, we knew it was time to reinvent it.
True learning happens when student well-being is at the heart of the classroom — a place where learning also means growing in empathy, perseverance, and life skills.

It is a pedagogical model focused on developing empathy, perseverance, self-efficacy, emotional regulation, teamwork, and decision-making..
The learning process takes place through participation in practical activities, exercises, debates, collaborative work, and meaningful experiences.
What is an Active School?

Students sit at hexagonal tables, where each one has a specific role and responsibilities toward their peers.

These roles rotate throughout the year to ensure that every student has the opportunity to experience different responsibilities.
Goals we contribute to
4.1
Ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes by 2030.
4.7
To educate young people with values and knowledge to drive sustainable development and global citizenship.
